Decent price
There needs to be a starter at the tee or within reach of the tee. We were let off late and there was a complete breakdown of communication regarding our time. 2some, 4some, single, then our foursome went off. Play was slow.
Need to see how it is maintained over the summer
I've played this course three times since it went public a few years ago. Several things are better: they've improved signage on the course (while keeping it low-key) and the pro shop has filled out a bit. In general, the course was reasonably well maintained -- fairways were fine, the grounds crew was out tending to fairway bunkers. Greens were shaggy and slow, however -- keep an eye on whether this is just an artifact of being early season after a few days of rain (this was May 27), or whether this is indicative of how they are keeping the course.
greens were great shape for a public course
full price I would be a little disappointed, but then again I think 100.00 for any course is expensive, so to play public course in CT and pay 61.00 I say no deal. But the greens were in great shape.
great shape/nice staff/covenient/fun
I will be back to play again. had a great day and really enjoyed the experience
will definitely play again as i enjoyed the layout
pleasent surprise at quality of course. staff very accomodating and friendly. good value.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY
Greens slower than shag carpet
Extremely slow play because they squeezed people off every 7 minutes (I thought June was USGA pace of play month?)
Unfriendly starter
Poorly maintained greens, fairways, and bunkers
Layout demands blind tee shots on nearly every hole
Course is in tough shape
The fairways are barren and lack even the basic attempt at care. The greens are suffering from permanent winter burn and the bumpy rock hard putting surface is not very fun to putt on at all. There are arbitrary piles of sticks and broken limbs littering the course.
Needs Work
Course is in rough shape and needs attention. I think there were 4 ball washers on the course. Debris (large pieces of tree branches) from Sandy are still on the course. Greens are hard and super fast as they are loaded with sand. the 18th green needs major work.
Nice layout, early season conditions exist.
The course was in fair shape, some of the greens were sandy and just recently spiked. Course could use extra care around the greens and some fairways. Very nice layout and fair for mid handicappers. Good pace of play.
Country Club of Woodbridge
Course was in very good, early season shape. Club personnel were very friendly. Tremendous value. Look forward to playing again.
Outstanding
Overall a great experience from start to finish
The Pros and staff were very informative and helpful, the food was great and wait staff was very friendly. The course was in a well maintained condition compared to prior seasons and I can not wait to come play again. This will be the leading course in New Haven area soon.
Needs a lot of work
10:00 a.m. tee time on a Saturday and there is no F&B open to even get a cup of coffee. The green on #1 is closed, nobody told us before hand. Greens are plugged and covered in a ton of sand. Some areas of the fairways are hard pan. No rough on the whole course, grass all cut 1 length. Downed limbs from storms laying everywhere. 1 bunker had mound of snow in it still. Clubhouse is a dump, tables and chairs are not level if not broken. This place has potential but would take a ton of money to bring up to par. Its still early, hope the grass comes in for the spring/summer. Cant imagine anyone is paying $2300 to be a member considering some other options in the area.
Great staff and good course
Staff was great. Roy the starter was excellent in pointing out some basics prior to my teeing off as a first time player. Course was in good condition and fun to play. I will be back. Only negative, the had just applied pesticide and the odor was pretty strong but that was only by chance of scheduling.
good value
starter needs to get the pace of play organised and pair up two balls, being stuck inbetween fourballs is highly aggravating.
Condition has deteriorated from the spring to summer
Always found the course to be well-maintained and a joy to play but after playing it in Sept. I was tremendously disappointed as the tees, fairways and greens were not in good shape. Someone who worked there told us that there was a lack of rain?? Did not see that at other courses in Connecticut.
I like the course but it needs some work.
the course has a great layout. The greens aretough to putt but fair. But need some work as several have burnt out spots. The conditioning needs a lot of work. There are burnt out spots everywhere. The 9th faiway needs to be blown up and reseeded or sodded.
Only if you live in the area.
Woodbridge has a great laout but its conditioning leaves a lot to be desired. It was also very crowded and slow. Seems to be a local club that included a pool and tennis court but all seems a bit rundown. Greens were tough and some holes challenged with their length and elevation changes. Would play again if I was a local but not worth the hour drive.
Not a bad hole on the course
The course was challenging and still fun to play. The value was very good. All staff members were polite and questioned if there was anything they could do for us or to the facilities to make our experience better and bring us back to play again. Condition of the course was not great but they are obviously working toward improving it. The greens other than #1 rolled consistently and true. Overall it was a fun day.
Best Value around
Fantastic facility and great people. This course is the best value in the area
