Got Good Bones
no yardage markers
sand traps akin to gravel pits
overgrown rough
clubhouse in need of repair
all that said the weather has been rough but course is a hodgepodge of criss-crossed holes and overall lack of cohesion
Greens
Tee boxes, fairways, and course in general in very good shape, but the greens were extremely slow. Although the greens were in good shape they needed to be rolled and cut.
Best I have seen Woodbridge in a long time, hope its not just because its early in the year!
could smell the fertilizer treatment during whole round
nice course but would have liked to know about the fertilizer treatment before I smelled it during round.
I would have played on different day.
Review
It was early in the year and we had just had a lot of rain, but the course wasn't in the best shape. The greens were very hard to judge, the 18th green and a couple others were full of sand. You could see sand being kicked up when you put the ball. A couple of bunkers were full of water. The pro-shop staff was very friendly; however, the groundscrew were obnoxious. One guy sat in the middle of the fairway with his cart and dog while we were trying to hit. Then he decided to start a leaf blower teeing off on the next whole. I'd play at the course again if I were bored.
Interesting Layout, Difficult Greens
This was my first time playing this course, it was early in the season so as expected the conditions weren't great, the greens were average pace at best and had been aerated and top dressed recently. Some of the bunkers also looked a little weathered. #1 and #18 were temporary greens, it looks like they were rebuidling the first green. The course definitely has potential..we played the tips....there is a good mix of long & short holes with some elevation change throughout the layout. Most of the greens are undulating and small, I don't think I had a flat putt all day. Overall, I would say the course was good with a very fun and interesting layout, no hole looks the same. I plan on visiting again later in the spring when the greens (hopefully!) are in a little bit better shape.
Terrible Conditions
I was very disappointed with the conditions. Fairways were in terrible shape along with many of the greens. How they can call this a "Country Club" is beyond me. We won't be going back anytime soon!
Great course that needs some more care
This is a challenging course. They need to work on better maintenance of the greens and fairways. It was a good value during the week.
Pleasure to play
Well worth the cost. They are loosing some of the greens, and some of the bunkers needed tending. Played in under 4 hours, and stopped for lunch. My king of course!
needs help
the course is in very bad shape compared to yearsa ago the greens were just had been airated the fairways were good but the course need lots of work to bring backto what it was
Beautiful this time of year
Challenging approach to greens requires good short game .Mountain layout offers a variety of lies. Greens tough to read.
Nice course great staff
Warm welcoming staff from when we first arrived until we left, very refreshing. Course had 2 greens that needed work 1&18 otherwise the course was in good condition. We were the first off so the pace was quick less than 4 hours. The course it self is narrow, tree lined with quick greens fun to play will play again.
Great week day value - super friendly staff
This is a very nice course with an interesting layout. Visually appealing and a great combination of challenging holes and some more foregiving ones. Fodd/beverage service could use some attention but otherwise a great golf experience.
Poor condition...needs serious attention
It's a shame such a nice little track has fallen into such a bad state...the greens are in horrrible shape, bunkers are like hitting off concrete. Sad.
Definite play again
This formerly private and mis managed 18 holer is sure to make a great comeback. Some of the greens could use some work but the majority were good. The course in general is in fairly good shape save for some spots needing TLC. The staff was bend over backwards friendly and I have no qualms about playing there again or recommending to friends.
The course was at one time a private course but after going thru financial difficulty the town now owns and runs it. The conditions were less than OK
It needs maintenance and TLC-the confitions were worse than average at best. It's an absolutely beautiful golf course that is no where near what it used to be when it was a private club
Fairways and traps well maintained. Some greens needs help.
Would not pay full price for the condition the course is in. Putting green closed 25% bare spots. If I could not get my first choice and wanted to play golf that day I would play here.
Worth playing and good value.
Enjoyed playing here a lot. The course is short with lots of up hill holes which makes accuracy extra important.
Greens are tricky and fair and roll nicely.
ON the negative, the course has a lot of bare or rough patches and a couple of the greens need serious attention.
Poor condition
Took my girl friends father there for his birthday. Thought 30 was a deal, however I wouldn't pay 10 dollars to play this course.
The course had great variety
Although a little confusing to get around at first I found that course had a certain greatness to it fun to play great fairways and some very challenging holes all in all I really liked this place
Slow play and some burnt greens
Over 5 hours and waited every hole. Rangers were friendly but afraid to ask slow groups to speed it up. Group in front of us teed off from the blue tee and hit their second shots from the yellow!
