Agawam Hunt

Got out to Agawam Hunt on Saturday AM. Went out a little early to our 10am tee time. Great course. Little odd setup but the club pro explains it well. Awesome greens, challenging elevation changes, but some forgiveness if you miss the fairway. Greens roll true. Very well manicured course that does not get a ton of play. Would absolutely come back.

Always wanted to play here. Finally got he chance and its on the short list to return again.

Relatively empty place. Once an exclusive club, now allows public play. Still in great condition, if you get a chance, play here. Great and welcoming staff.

Course was in great space. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course is short but has some challenging holes. I would love to play it agin.

Very friendly staff. Felt very welcomed as soon as we arrived and the same staff member who checked us in even checked in with us into our second round asking if we were enjoying the round.

Course is a beautiful gem and is well kept. Greens are fast and challenging. No one in front of us and a very fast but challenging round

The staff was friendly and helpful. The course is fair and very challenging. Some of par 3's require an accurate tee shot or your looking at a tough second shot, you will see what I mean. Don't go left on hole 11. The fairways were in better shape than some putting greens I have played. The rough is long grass. The bunkers looked smooth and fluffy, I was fortunate and did not have the pleasure of testing the bunkers first hand. The greens are fast, smooth, and a joy to putt on.

There were a few odd items about this course. First, there is a driving range which plays into the 18 fairway. ?? Second , is the ride to the fifth hole.

This was a beautiful course. Our twosome finished 18 holes in just over 3 hours. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely play this one again.

Found a great deal for this otherwise private club on Golfnow. Wasn't disappointed at all, great conditions, tough but fair greens, great old style course that still plays well today. Rough was actual rough so don't miss the fairways but you can score well here if you make your shots. Overall a great course and will definitely return.

The fairways and greens were quite nice but anytime you were off those areas it was bad. There's was tons of hard pan and old aeration plugs in the rough areas. And why is there a range where people hit balls into the 18th fairway??!!

Great golf course. All about the approach.
Greens were smooth, not lightning but they putted true. Fairways and tee boxes were nice. In fact, the conditions all around were awesome.

Holes were appropriate distance for my game, nothing too crazy, but no gimmes. As with any good Ross course, the shorter holes aren't pitch and putts.

Really fun track. #2 and #11 greens are wild. The guys in the pro shop were very nice.

Small range, but it wasn't busy.

The only odd thing was that not one bunker had a rake to go with it, of course the sand was the type you could easily shift with your foot.

Overall this place was Awesome!

Wow, what a pleasure to play this manicured track. It was hard to find a divot in the fairways. Course was in great shape and the greens are fast. Don't be above the hole on this course. Looking forward to playing it again.

First time playing here. The greens had been top dressed not long before playing the course. Was not an issue with me because I know it is a good thing long term. One of the fairways was being punched the day I played but again not an issue, I was in the rough anyway. Good much of long and short holes. The par threes were great though a couple of the par fives would take a little getting used to. The pace of play was fine. I played as a single and took my time. Total round was just under four hours. The highlight of this course for me was the green complexes. These greens were awesome though frustrating at times. A little local knowledge would have helped. The rough was fierce to say the least. Not really sure the rough is always as long as it was the day I played but it added an additional challenge on wayward shots. Long story short I can't wait to play it again.
