Agawam Hunt

On the first tee the Pro approached us and said the 4 some in front of us were members and please stay back so they wouldn’t feel rushed. We did but As a twosome we were always waiting for them every shot and they did not let us go through until home #10.

When I pulled in, someone came right over with a cart.
He asked if I had a 8am tee time and said yes and gave him my name.
He said I'm Norm. When we went inside he gave me a map of the course and explained the layout. He then wrote his cellphone number down in case I had any questions.
I joined 2 other golfers who were playing in the Rhode Island senior open in 2 weeks.

I golf a lot. Having a cool professional staff like Agawam is priceless. Tom the pro there is amazing. Course conditions are always pristine. Some scary bunkers and some decent looking water holes. Beautiful as always. New electric carts are awesome USB chargers in them and leather wrapped steering wheel was beautiful. Cold Water on a bunch of holes and beautiful yardage hole diagrams on each tee box.

For $55? Good deal. Private course with some open tee times. A little bit of a quirky layout but conditions are always good. Greens were fast and true.

You need to know the history of this course to appreciate the day spent here. This an historical course with fast sloping greens that can challenge even the best players.

I have played Agwam a few times this summer as a result of GolfNow and really enjoy the course. The layout is a little funky so the first time you need some direction but holes 8-14 are across the street and are some of my favorite stretches of holes around. The greens and course is in great shape with some thick rough.

This course has the feel of an old school golf course with a great layout and outstanding conditions.

First off, this was a total surprise giving the urban setting. On arrival the staff were all super friendly and very helpful. In the pro shop, I was given a map with great instruction as the layout for a first timer is not so easy to follow. The cart was loaded up for me and away I went. The course itself is in great shape, fairways are not overly generous but they are not ribbons either. the layout rewards fairways hit and punishes you if you don't hit them, just as it should be. Greens were all in great shape, quick and rolling very nicely. Bunkers that I played out of were all in good condition, sand was well raked. the on course ground crew were all very polite and friendly and went of there way to move out of the way and let me continue playing. All in all a very enjoyable mornings golf, will look to get back to this course again.

It was a new adventure for me. First time on Agawam Hunt. What a great round! Play was fast and the fairways forgiving. The greens are an excellent challenge!! They killed me! Putting is my strong point! I never would have thought such a gem of a course would be located in the middle of such an urban area. Can't wait to enjoy another round there!! The folks we encountered were very nice and welcoming. Thank you Norm for the map and instructions. You and your staff are a real class act!! Keep up the great work! -Mr. Knickers!

Such a great track....some of the best conditions you'll find in the area, no matter the season. Just be aware that there is no snack bar/grill at the turn, as you do not get back to the clubhouse until the end of the round. Must play if you havent yet.

Fairways were dry and patchy. Greens were great. T-boxes were great. Staff was welcoming. Members didn't seem to like the fact that the public was playing the course.
