Ridgewood Country Club

Lots of wetland hazards make this a difficult course for a golfer of my experience, but they also make the course a very nice place to play golf. Lots of lost balls. We'll be back every so often, even though it's about an hour and a half from home.

So we played Ridgewood three days this week. Monday, the dry conditions and freshly dressed greens were barely playable. The gully washer storm on Tuesday was just what was needed. Even the fairways showed some grain, traps were raked, putts rolled smoothly most of the time. Ample portapotties and cold water stations. Theres a putting green, range and pitching area, including a trap for warmups. Proshop is ok but no used balls for sale, plenty to be found in all the hazards. Not a beginners course and bring your “A”game for either the blue or black tees which typically included an additional carry; and wait to play the day after a good rainstorm.

It would be nice if golf now could let us know when the chorus has been taught dressed so that we might book a different course. This course was taught dressed and we are putting on the sand

Ridgewood has obviously seen better days, much better days. Interesting layout with one or two forced carries on nearly every hole. But...fairways were “cut” so short, greens were sanded but...lots of winterkill still. Cart paths are in better shape than the course. Played from the blue tees adding some distance but...fairways are chopped up and good lies were scarce. All in all a disappointing day on a course i had heard a lot of good things about. May try it again after a couple years.

Great course and not always very busy as opposed to some off Rt 16 which helps with the pace of play. There’s a handful of greens that aren’t is very poor condition after the winter but other than that the course is in good shape.

I have played Ridgewood about 10 times over the past three years, and this was my second time in 2019. The course seems to be deteriorating quickly. The greens were terrible, both bumpy and of poor quality. The fairways are muddy with deep tire tracks and the mowing of the entire course is poor. The cart paths and wooden bridges are definitely in need of repair. My wife and I hate to see this course so run down as it is once of our summer must do’s. But sorry to say for the money it is not worth playing at this point in time.

I have certainly played Ridgewood in the past but this year I find the course in poor condition. Realizing the rough winter we had and all the rain this spring I didn’t expect perfect conditions but the greens were very poor and fairways so so

I had a great time, the weather was perfect and the course was in great shape. especially the fairways.

Greens got destroyed over the winter. Have not come back yet, not sure they will. Greens are unputtable! Can not have a real round of golf. Booked it thru GolfNow so could not get a refund, I should have asked about conditions before booking. Have played this course for the past 5 summers, has never been this bad.

Lots of hazards on several holes, but overall, a beautiful course with friendly staff and players. Last hole, after two tries that failed, I hit about 80 yards over the wetlands, onto the green, and the ball rolled into the hole. Fun.

I booked this course because golf now showed it to be wide open. Got there hoping to play a nice quick round as a single and ended up with 3 foursomes and a fivesome ahead of me. Not the courses fault there were that many foursomes ahead of me but I played the front 9 in 2:45 hours. Painfully slow for a single. I was going to quit but the front 9 was open at the turn so I played it over again very quickly. I'm told the course is in nice shape in the summer but right now it is very wet (cart path only) and as others have said the greens are in terrible shape. I might play again on the summer but not right now. Staff very friendly.

First round here—only got through 9 holes due to the rain, but the course willingly gave us a credit for the back 9. Greens sustained hefty winter damage, but you can see the work/money being put into restoring them. Despite the damage, putts still rolled well and true. All other areas of the course were in excellent condition. Front 9 was tough with hazards and pin placements, but good shots easily translated to good scores. Very impressed with the course and staff interaction was some of the best we’ve encountered anywhere we’ve played. Super excited to play here again; highly recommend

Love this course. Greens had been punched and were pretty sandy and bumpy. That’s part of reserving on line and not asking ahead. No fault of the course.

Great layout the blue tees aren’t really long but you have two holes with a 100 yard carry.

Watch out on nine. It is a Kay up off the tee if your a long hitter. A second shot with a 7 to 3 wood depending on your game (I hit 5 iron second to 100yds) skills.

Will def play again.
