Crotched Mountain Golf Club
About
Crotched Mountain Golf Club is a classic Donald Ross design set against a beautiful New England backdrop in the rolling hills of New Hampshire. The course is situated at the base of a mountain, offering beautiful views of the surrounding Monadnock region. This peacefully secluded spot is breathtaking in the fall when the leaves are changing. The golf course has many unique holes that will test your skill with a variety of different shots. Mature trees line the narrow fairways and there are strategically placed bunkers flanking the greens. You will also come across the occasional water hazard. There are some challenging holes but Crotched Mountain Golf Club is a fair and playable round that will appeal to a wide range of skill levels. The practice facility at Crotched Mountain includes a driving range and two different putting greens, including one with a sand bunker for chipping practice.

18th Holes with Clubhouse, Crotched Mountain Photo submitted by GolfMentor on 07/14/2014
Mixed bag
Super architecture, great vistas, good greens. However terrible fairways and tee boxes. The place is obviously suffering financially.
Hello Jeremy, thank you for taking the time to review us, and for the 3 stars. Father’s Day golf trip
Every year on Father’s Day my boys and myself select a course to golf in honor of their father for Father’s Day. This year we picked this course to golf and had a time . Beautiful scenery and everyone was very friendly. Thank you great time.
SPRINKLERS
Sprinklers were in during play impeding ability to hit follow up shots. Very hilly course with limited visibility down the fairway on some holes making it difficult to find ball. Good scenic view. Some tee boxes were in rough shape, with other having been under repair for over a month. Yardages were not entirely accurate due to tees being moved around on holes where tee boxes were being repaired.
Thank you for taking the time to review and leave your feedback of your recent round with us. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience you experienced at the course with us. Your feedback is extremely important to us. It is always our utmost goal to provide our golfers with a fun and enjoyable time and apologize if we missed the mark. For further resolution in this matter, please feel free to reach out to our staff in the pro shop. We hope to hear from you soon!
Fun course
Excellent course to enjoy a round of golf with your friends. Not overly long but challenging. Keep it in play and you will score well. Course conditions were very good. Greens were rolling smooth
Awesome Day
Came to this course expecting a cow pasture in the country We found a challenging golf course with greens that are in fantastic condition. Many holes are blind shots off the tee box so you will need to play this course a few times before actually scoring well. Fairways roll left and right and I actually couldn’t find a ball that I know I hit to the middle of the fairway. Someone will enjoy a Titleist Pro V1 when they find it in the fairway side rough. The trip in from Peabody Ma was long for a round of golf. GPS took us over a dirt road coming in but again the ride and fantastic Deal of the Day on Golf Now was well worth the trip. Great day and the young girl working inside was very nice.
Fun mountain track could be great with some investment
Nice layout with super nice staff. I live over an hour away and I would play here again if a buddy asked or for the crazy good hot deal. Greens were in amazing shape, fast, with lots of ridges, and big breaks in the greens. A few spots look like they have been ignored by the grounds crew but what ever. Great views and yeah...a fun track to play.
Best Value I'll Play All Year
I wanted to provide an update to my review from a couple months ago when the course was still coming out of the winter season. I'm happy to say the conditions have improved very much and after getting a great GolfNow deal for my round today I can confidently say this was the best value for playing golf I'll have all year!
It was my 6th time playing the course over the years and I'm still finding new things to appreciate about it. Many golfers might not love the old-school Donald Ross design with severely sloped fairways and blind tee shots but I find it charming and a lot of fun.
I was also impressed to (just today) notice the course does have a full practice area with a practice bunker and grass tees for the driving range.
My tee time came with cart included but given the cooler weather I decided to walk and it's actually not too bad of a walk considering all the elevation changes. You really get a better sense of the slope to the fairways and the primitive ways in which the course was shaped all those years ago.
As I mentioned before, the conditions were much improved since my last visit with no patchy fairways or rough. My only complaint is I could do with a little less rocks in the bunkers. A pebble here and there is to be expected at this price but the bunkers I was in today were littered with stones both small and large. Also it appears the flagstick on #13 is about to split in half at the bottom.
Anyways, I look forward to my next round here!
Bathroom facilities
There needs to be one ports potty on the front and back 9 for ladies
Making us go in the woods isn’t acceptable
All the 18 hole courses I play do this
Also men sometimes need one too
It’s not all peeing in the woods
Nice day golfing
Course in excellent condition. Elderly threesome were holding play and as a result we bypassed 8th hole. Par 3 number 16 box was a mess to get to. Otherwise very very good and challenging.
