Reviews
a little to difficult
This course probably is more friendly towards frequent players.
most of the shots are blind shots and require great shots to play it well.
Brought a couple of high handicappers and they did not have a good time.
Interesting Layout
This is course has some interesting holes throughout the course. Some tough ones and some open ones that line up to other holes so beware. Price is pretty good for the quality of course and they keep it pretty good shape.
Great course close to Boston
Good course. Probably you will enjoy it better if you're 18 handicap or lower. It has some challenging holes.
Great course if you are short and straight
I loved this course. I am short and straight and the blind shots did not bother me. Some of the others had issues with the blind shots but the fairway markers are not bad. I would have liked poles as opposed to the in ground distance markers but that is nitpicking. The course was beautiful, well maintained and the views are great. Luckily I didn't have to test the bunkers but they looked very nice and tough. The staff was friendly and even they tell you you are in for a tough round if you haven't played there before. I shot an 88 which for not playing much this year I am very satisfied. It was a great day out and I WILL return. RIDE, DO NOT WALK!
Very challenging for the novice or recreational golfer.
Although the course offers a reduced fee for walkers, I would highly recommend NOT to do so. Cart path rules require that you walk to your golf shot as it is, and believe me, that's enough walking with the very hilly terrain. We had a foursome with carts and it took us almost 6 hours to complete the course with very little waiting at the tees. The greens were very well maintained and fast. Fairways were well groomed but soggy in a few areas; not surprising since there were four straight days of rain before we played. Clubhouse Staff and Starter were very friendly, accommodating and professional. We actually got out 20 minutes earlier than our tee time. I can't wait to return here and attempt to improve my score.
Very dissapointed
The good news is that the greens were very nice and well kept. Now the bad. This course is very difficult to enjoy because there are many blind tee shots and approach shots. It is very hard to figure out where to hit unless you have played the course before or have someone in your group that has. It was built on a hill so most of the time you will be hitting uphill or downhill. Some of the fairways bend sharply, are sloped, and very narrow. Bring plenty of balls. The clubs I rented were old and hadn't been cleaned. I cannot recommend this course to anyone regardless of their handicap.
This course is no pushover
An interesting course with a wide open front nine where wind really comes into play, the back nine is totally carved out of the dense woods that offers a handful of blind shots. The greens were in great shape
Might help if they knew GolfNow pricing
Got to the course for a 7:30 am shotgun. The pro shop, not surprisingly, was packed. Almost all locals who play every weekend. Went to pay and the guy behind the counter was clueless. Tried to charge me $61.00 when GolfNow quoted $55.00. Said they don't honor GolfNow on weekends. After I questioned him on this, he asked someone else who said they do use GolfNow for weekends. Still didn't know the rate. Charged me $56.00, only a buck more and with the line I wasn't going to fight it. Really the only down said to the day. Otherwise a solid, challenging course.
about time they're on golfnow.com
love this course. always play it. its not for some people. you either love it or hate it. played in just over 4 hours, but play can be slow on the weekends due to difficulty; they don't overbook tee times. great value and course is always in top shape. premium placed on accuracy. greens are fast. walk 9, but ride 18. The only thing i haven't been happy with up to now is that singles couldn't book tee times. With Golfnow, singles can finally book them. Now they just need a liquor license.
The course will be Pristine very soon. Great shape for this time of year.
You will have to play this course more than once to really enjoy it. Very challenging. A must ride course unless you're a cross
country and climbing person. Enjoyable trip that can only get better the more you play it.
Back 9 is tough especially with the blind fairways
Fair course, tough back nine and fast greens. Easy to book tee times which is great.
Wouldn't want to walk!
Tough course for a mid-high handicapper. Back nine is tougher then the front.
