OK Course
This is a course you'd have to play a few times, as there were a number of blind shots and holes where driver is taken out of your hands. Conditions were fair, and pace was a little slow. Greens were fast and pretty tricky.
This course fairways and greens in great conditions
Course is great play here often and staff is very polite and helpful.
Good course
Course was in great shape, greens were very nice. A lot of blind shots, so playing the first time you might have some surprises. They do not serve alcohol on the course or in the clubhouse - the only way the town would let them build the course. Overall good experience for my first time on the course.
Hidden Gem
The course is very challenging. The course was in great shape. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Bring plenty of balls.
Excellent shape with great views
Surprised by the tightness of the course. Must find the areas to land the ball. Lots of blind shots that will make you use every club, especially off the tees
Nice course, tough but well maintained
It was my first time playing there so being unfamiliar made it very tough. Narrow fairways, elevated tees and greens make this track a challenge. The course is well maintained with the exception of goose droppings on two greens. It is very hilly so a cart is recommended even for the physically fit. The first 8 holes were confusing because i didn't know where I was going. Would have been better if I got paired up with someone who knew the course. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. If you up for a golf challenge this course is a good choice. Would not recommend for a beginner.
Very challenging course
You'll use all your clubs great condition of
Course . Staff was very friendy and helpful,
Will play again soon.
very enjoyable round....
Fun round of golf.
Greens were in excellent condition. fairways are tight and extremely hilly...good variety in length and challenges..well worth the GolfNow special rate.
Great Course
You'll use most of the clubs in your bag. Placement of each shot is necessary. Pin placements can make for some challenging putts.
April 25 - Meadow @ Peabody review
Great municipal! The greens were in great shape and the fairways were surprisingly lush since we had a horrible winter in New England. Staff was friendly, I've played Meadows a few times the past 3 years, kudos to the superintendent, he did a great job getting this course ready in such short of time.
well maintained always improving course
Well maintained public course.staff friendly and always accommodating and helpful to meadow newbies.Only downside, esp for tournaments is no liquor license.
interesting course
Played three times now. Always in good shape and they're always working to improve. Play the blue tees - more interesting tee shots and still only 6200. Decent pace on weekends. No booze though. Take a cart for 18. Serious hills especially on the back.
Good Course - good condition
Good overall layout (a couple quirky holes) and pretty good condition. Good value.
Great Challenge
Course is in excellent condition. Several challenging holes in a wonderful setting.
Best public course on the Nort Shore by far
Course is in great condition . Very large greens and their speed is faster than most courses which I like. I wouldn't recommend it for a beginner .
Great day of golf
Course is very well maintained, more than moderately difficult but not too challenging. Narrow fairways and deep woods make for many lost balls.
Local knowledge needed
This is my home course and I play it often.... If its your first time playing it I would recommend playing the white tees as the blues are much more difficult. There are a few layup holes that you really need to know were to hit the ball to setup your approach.... Greens are usually faster than most local public courses and conditioning is usually great..... Yesterday there were a fair amount of burnt out spots but overall it wasnt bad. Great price for the layout and conditioning.
Not for high handicappers
This is actually a really fun little course. It is tight and has multiple blind shots, also a much different course from the blues as it was setup when we played it. If you hit the fairways you will enjoy the course.
North Shore Hidden Gem
My buddy and I found this place on Golf Now and for $47 with a cart you couldn't beat the price. We checked the reviews of the place and decided to give it a try. Everything we could of asked for in a course. Elevation changes, dog legs, some blind tee shots, no hole was similar to another. And to top it all off the conditions were about as ideal as you can get for a public course. The greens were receptive but had great pace and roll to them. Consistent lies from the fairways and penal enough rough to put a premium on hitting fairways. Overall we loved the course and will definitely be heading back. As other reviewers have said, second time around should be more rewarding with little more course knowledge
Has great replay appeal
As many other reviewers have noted, the abundance of blind shots will inflate your score the first time around. And that's the hook! You will come back again and the course won't disappoint. I played both the Blue Tees and the Whites, and I was really challenged on the Blues and had more fun from the Whites. Greens roll true with a reasonable speed over subtle undulations. You need to be a wizard on the moss to avoid the dreaded 3 putts. Even though I have an hour drive to the course, with another GolfNow deal I will be back.
