Bay Pointe Country Club was known as Wareham Country Club when it first opened in 1964 up until 1988 when it underwent a major renovation, including the construction of the island green seventh hole, which is the golf course's signature. The club underwent yet another multi-million dollar renovation in 2012 when the club changed ownership. In the most recent renovation, hundreds of extraneous trees were cleared from the fairways in order to get it back into pristine condition. Although it's a seemingly short layout at just over 6,200 yards from the back tees, it actually plays much longer. The first two holes are laid across the hilliest portion of the terrain. Though you have a challenging start, the rest of the Bay Pointe golf course eases into a gentler landscape.

Great Undulation

They were clearly getting ready for a tournament of some sort for the weekend as every hole had sprinklers on at about the 200 yard marker off the tee. The greens had been aerated as well and
were a little rough but all in all the course was a great change for someone who lives in Tampa with no hills at all. I would pay the same price as golfnow gave me but not anymore until the aeration was clear and they had the sprinklers off.

tight course

this course has a lot of uphill holes, so the course plays a lot longer than the yardage on the card. some narrow fairways=tight tee shots.got a great deal from golfnow.

First Time Playing

Course was great to play difficult but not to extremes

No starter so did not know when to tee off.
Tee time of 11:04 but only one threesome teed off between 10:15 and 10:45 yet we were not allowed to tee off early.
Other than that the staff and members we met on the course were friendly and accommodating.

Short but challenging course.

Got out as a single and played 18 in under 2:30 hr. The few golfers ahead of me were quick to let me play through. Course was in good condition.
