Bay Pointe Country Club
About
Bay Pointe Country Club was known as Wareham Country Club when it first opened in 1964 up until 1988 when it underwent a major renovation, including the construction of the island green seventh hole, which is the golf course's signature. The club underwent yet another multi-million dollar renovation in 2012 when the club changed ownership. In the most recent renovation, hundreds of extraneous trees were cleared from the fairways in order to get it back into pristine condition. Although it's a seemingly short layout at just over 6,200 yards from the back tees, it actually plays much longer. The first two holes are laid across the hilliest portion of the terrain. Though you have a challenging start, the rest of the Bay Pointe golf course eases into a gentler landscape.

Great Deal
Course was in good shape considering the summer we have had. Greens were consistent and bunkers were in good shape. Overall it was a good course for this part of the Cape.
Nice track
This is a good course, especially considering the value. Course was in good shape with tight fairways and fast greens. There are a lot of dog leg lefts! Friendly staff, casual atmosphere.
Challenging From The Blue
With 800 more yards on the course when you play from the blue tees, it becomes more challenging and more entertaining to the average golfer. Some holes have narrow fairways and the bunkers are placed strategically to either hit a great shot or play it safe on the other side.
Greens are fantastic
First tee time of the day yesterday. Greens are in fantastic shape this year along with the rest of the course. Great value and will be back again soon
the course was in great shape
Very good course greens super shape and not all rolling the same, staff was great . A real hidden gem a must play! stay out of the ruff on the par 5s will cost a stroke for sure.
Great place if you can get a good pace!
Let me start by saying I am no scratch golfer. Yet I enjoy being able to play at a fairly nice pace. Unfortunately got a bad run in with a really slow foursome. 3 groups in front. Other than that this course played impeccable. The greens were fast yet my approaches held due to the nice firmness. The challenging doglegs were nice. There could be a bit more of an identifier where the bell is on the first dogleg. Yardage markers could be more updates and sprinkler heads could use yardage indicators. I am sure we will return as the course played well and was a good challenge from the whites! Definite must try NE Course!!!
Value
There are plenty of nice courses in the cape cod area, but when you're talkin about "bang for your buck" , Bay Pointe club is right up there.
Rainy round
Played a round of 16 holes, had to cancel due to weather. The course was great however, keeping you on your toes with elevation changes and hazards to carry on many holes.
Bay Pointe
Very good day of golf. Course was in good shape and pace of play was excellent.
Very nice sourse.
Course was challenging as there were many holses that could have been played differently had I known what was/was not hidden around the dogleg.
Only complaint is the driving range, and having to hit off of mats.
Fun afternoon
The course is in average shape. Greens true but slow. Tee boxes show wear and cart paths have some washout. Variety of terrains and some blind shots make this interesting. Most of par threes are fairly long. The "island green" is more a gimmick than a true challenge. We had a good time with sunny conditions and a strong breeze. 10 degrees cooler here than in Boston. Bring water...only one place other than clubhouse on the course with drinking water.
Windy day near the Cape
Windy today over 25 mph. Course plays tough in these conditions. Good, fair challenge. My wife and I played and joined up with another couple on the third tee as the foursome in front of us was a little slow. Not much of an advantage for the ladies on the course, Example: last hole a medium length par four, the difference between the blue and red tees was a mere 15 yards.
Baypointe
Great conditions tee to green lost 2 to heather and woods. sand traps are not equal. some very soft others hard. At 6200 from blues very good long par 3's. some people play the threes from whites.
Good day at Bay Pointe
The course was in great shape for a public course. Paid the hot value price so the value was excellent. The greens on the front nine were still coming in from aeration, but the back were fine. Played the blue tees which added length. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will return again.
Bay Point
Well folks as a long time resident of Bourne, I have trouble with the key info, constructed in 1964. Funny, I remember this course being a sandpit I would go four wheeling in the late 80's. So to set the record straight lets say this course was not built in 1964, rather 1994. I just think it a typo.
Great place to golf, great course not too hard not too easy but indeed just right. I highly reccomend this course to all new or pro.
Great course
Loved this course. Well taken care of. Challenging but not hard. Island green is cool. Would def go back.
Nice little course
Old style course, tight fairways and dog-legs with enough hills to make it interesting.
Must have tremendous drainage as I played in the rain after a terrible winter that has left many course in the area a swamp but not Bay Pointe.
Greens were in terrific shape, smooth and fast even in the rain.
Will definitely play again.
PREMIERE???
They bill this as the Cape's premiere golf course. Dillusions of grandure. Signage and yardage markers very poor. Greens were not that good faiways so so and the tees mostly dirt. The layout is very good and picturesque and the pace was great. I wouldn't bother to go back
Nice course with a Cape feel
Was very pleasantly surprised that they let me and my brother play in mid-January. Despite a rather cold day, we were able to play 18 holes and the course was in great shape considering it is mid-winter. There are a few very long par 4's (430 yards and over) that essentially play as par 5's, but those are countered with some shorter easier holes for a nice balance. The course is lined with the scrub pines that you find on Cape Cod giving it a great 'beach-forest' type feel. If it was in this kind of condition in January I can wait to try it again when the weather is warmer!
Nice Course to Play
The Red tee's are the front tips of the Whites. Course was very long for my partner. Besides for the length she found it to be a fun course to play. The fairways were clean (no leaves) the greens were in very good shape. Putts were true. Best course I have played for this money. GolfNow really out did themselves with this deal. If you get a chance to use the Hot Deal you will not be disappointed. If you are there on a Sunday Stop at the bar they have a wonderful line up of Football Specials.
Dear Gungadin,
Bay Pointe was built in 1964, formerly the Wareham Golf Course. Hole #12 which is #3 now was lined with tall pine trees and a hill along the left side from the tee right up to the green. Behind the trees was the sand pit. The gentlemen that bought the golf course from the town in the late 80's knocked all the trees and the hill then proceeded to build condos where the sand pit use to be.How do I know this? I was member in 1978 and I remember hearing the dirt bikes when playing that hole. The funny thing is is that the golfers knew that there was a sand pit there but the the kids riding their dirt bikes did not know there was a golf course. So the information is correct on when the The Bay Pointe Club (Wareham Golf Course) was built.
Dear Gungadinn,
I have also been a long time resident of Bourne, graduated from Bourne High in 1985 and I was a member at the Wareham Golf Course back in 1978 which is now called Bay Pointe. I have been the Golf Professional here now for 13 years so I am very aware of the sand pit. Just a little history regarding Bay Pointe. Back in 1990, the gentleman that bought Wareham Golf Course changed the 12th hole which is now number 3. He proceeded to build the condos in which changed the whole design of whole number 3, where you use to ride your bike. I am very familiar with the sand pit because when I use to play Wareham as a kid, I would hear the dirt bikes in sand the pit when playing. The Golf Course was built in 1964, designed by Geoffrey Cornish. I hope you enjoyed your day with us and Thank you for playing Bay Pointe. Sincerely, Tom Tobey, PGA Professional, The Bay Pointe Club.
