Intra-euro leagues
They were far too many intramural golfers, the backed up the entire golf course. They should go out earlier.
Pace of Play is the Only Drawback
Arguably the best “bang for your buck” anywhere in Bristol/Plymouth counties. Great track for all skill levels. Greens and fairways were in excellent shape, especially for the price. As usual, however, it was a 5 hour round. I had not played this course in 2 years because of pace of play issues, but wanted to give it a try again. The pace of play is still a problem. It seems to be a result of overbooking, with tee times only 8 minutes apart. Once out there, there was no Ranger to usher along the slower groups. There were consistently 3, sometimes 4 groups on every hole on the back 9 (we tee’d off of 10). Acushnet has to do a better job of managing the pace of play and their tee sheet. I have talked to various people who have the same assessment of this course as I do.
Great Round!
Beautiful course layout and very well maintained. It was a nice weekend day and very crowded as a result. Play was naturally a bit slow.
Long Hot Day
Enjoyed the layout . Had a good mix of holes. Reasonably difficult without being penal. Greens , tees and fairways in very good shape. Main complaint (as usual these days) is ridiculously slow play. 5 hour round, no ranger. I know some courses are reluctant to push slow players, but moving things along will improve the experience for everyone. Maybe some day.
Fun mix of holes
We always enjoy a round at Acushnet and todays round didn’t disappoint. Even after the heavy rains the course was very playable within noticeable problem areas. greens were quick and true, fairways in great shape as were the tee boxes. Lid you haven’t played here you’re missing out.
The only reason I give it 4 stars is the weak clubhouse and less than friendly desk. I have to say the starter is friendly and did a fine job getting the groups in position to play. We were a 4some and had two 3somes in front of us which we easily kept pace with, round was 4:10 which though slower than we would have liked it wasn’t terrible. Outdoors the tented area is rough, plastic chairs need to be tossed and the tables rand from fair to terrible. On the bright side the beer. Is cold, no real bar, and a limited food choice to put it nicely…
IF YA HAVE 6HRS...
Since Gary retired, there has been no Ranger presence on the course. People just take their sweet ssa time, because there are no ramifications.
Great Place to play
I thoroughly enjoy playing this course every time. Grounds are always well maintained and provides all challenges to all type players. There are times when pace of play could be improved upon. Very friendly staff.
I had the same issue with slow play 5+ hrs for 18 holes. Tee times were 5 minutes apart!
