Local nine hole diamond
Exeter CC is in excellent condition from tees to greens, traps are fresh, drainage is good, roughs are cut. Enjoyed the round with my son until we caught a group of four older women golfers. Golfers because they could hit the ball but ladies, when your drives are a hundred yards each you do not play honors golf! By the eighth tee there were no less than 3 twosomes backed up waiting for them to reach the green. Of course no ranger to explain ettiquette or let a faster group through. 3 hour round on a Tuesday morning.
Good course
Overall good course, however booked a tee time with a friend and was forced to play with others. They were great people but when you reserve a time to play a friend and the others had a completely different tee time than us, I don’t see why the staff were too pushy about pairing the groups. We already paid the money to enjoy the morning, why force pairs together when it doesn’t bog down others.
Steady Improvement
Above average condition for local public courses. Flew around on a Hot Tuesday, only a couple other twosomes. Greens are small and pitched. Fairways and greens in good shape. Traps are much improved from previous years. Fun round on an old course.
A good none
Once you understand the targets, this is a fun and challenging course. Great food and beverages too.
Slo Play
I have played ECC several times this year and this is the first time I have encountered EXTREMELY SLO PLAY.
MY Nine hole round took close to 3 hrs (normally 90 to 120 minutes. Need a ranger on League days
FIRST TIMER
Except for several blind shots to the green and some significantly sloped greens, this was a short, fun course to play. Would play again if in the area.
