Wish I knew the greens had been recently aerated. Overall great course and a really fun time:) . It was a nice trip up North to a really beautifully designed golf course.
Great views , pretty nice course, great value
I had heard a lot about the views on this course, so I wanted to see for myself. I was not dissapointed, you drive up to the clubhouse and your already have a feast for your eyes. I have hiked around nh mountains and it was fun to see where I had hiked while playing. Gorgeous rolling mountains of nh were the background of a lot of shots. It's almost such good views its distracting.
The course itself , it was nice, and the greens were very short cut. Some play had the shape of greens near the hole out of wack, but they were mostly predictable. The tees were nice and the fairways had a nice low cut.
The layout was very up and down, up and down up and down and up and down. If you walk this course you could burn probably over 2500 calories. Beautiful holes although judging distance sometimes came down to luck. It's not very long course( at least from whites) on the back the 17th hole I hit driver pitching wedge and didnt realize until after it was a par 5! But it's nice, very picturesque and its just nice to be out there. I will come back out again .
Simply The Best!
I showed up to play Owl's Nest having played 49 other courses all along the East Coast. I had heard great things about it and seen the awards it had won but even all that buzz didn't prepare me for the experience.
Sure, the service and amenities are fairly standard, but once out on the course, you will quickly see what sets Owl's Nest apart from any other course you've ever played.
The course conditions are immaculate, with smooth, fast greens, low-cut fairways, even rough, fine sand bunkers, and presentable tee boxes. The landscaping is truly top-notch.
The layout is among the most varied you'll ever encounter, aided by massive amounts of elevation changes that will have you doing advanced calculus in your head trying to choose a club (ok, not really). There's just about every kind of hole on this course, you'll never get one hole confused with another. A unique, interesting, and engaging design all the way around.
But hey, way for me to bury the lead! The VIEWS! The scenic vistas offered by Owl's Nest are simply unparalleled (disclosure: I haven't yet played the Mount Washington course). I am not one to pull out my phone and take photos of a course I play one but you can't help but stop and stare at the mountains and the beauty of nature surrounding the course. The finishing hole is the most picturesque hole I've ever played. [see photos attached]
A course of this quality is fairly priced, but throw in the amazing views and you have yourself a steal not matter when you play. Even if you live out of state (as I do), this course is worth the drive!
Excellent course
One place to stop, if you never go. A Great challenge
Great views. Great course. Great value.
Great views. Great course. Great value. Highly recommended.
The front nine good back nine so so
The front nine played well enough with great views of the valley. The greens were heavy marked up from spikes. The back nine was difficult. If I did not have two locals playing with me I would have never known where to hit half of my shots. There is a terrible short par four that is uphill on the back nine. It looked like in was forced into the course and should have been a par three. Again the greens were heavily marked up by spikes. The course is okay but not what I expected from the hype it recieved prior to my playing it.
Great course, in awesome condition with fabulous views!
Please keep this course on your list to play! It was great fun and we received wonderful service and customer attention.7/24/2913
A very good course with some great views.
Owl's Nest is a very good course. It has a nice variety of holes: some risk-reward, some very challenging, and some classic. Some of the views are excellent. Overall, the staff was good, but one ranger did not have a clue, which slowed the pace of play tremendously. However, it was a great course to play.
Well maintained great views good mix of holes
Got there a little early and we were able to go right out, pace of play was terrific will be going back again if we can get the same deal on line.
Best course I've played.
Played Owl's Nest today and it's the best course I have ever played. Some of the holes are tricky but are fair test if you hit the ball in the right spot.
The few downsides were that on some of the holes with houses out of bounds is very close to the fairway and greens so if you are offline slightly you won't know you're OB until you get up to the ball.
The par 3 14th tee box for the whites were in very rough shape and basically just dirt.
My biggest complaint is that there is no marker on the flag pointing out the pin location. Some of the greens are slightly up hill so you can only see half the flag stick and it was difficult to figure the location unless you went up to see.
Other than that the course is in great shape and I will be back as soon as I can.
Great views!
I couldn't think of a better place to build a golf course. Great experience all around. I'm partial to this course because it was the first place I ever played 11 years ago.
Great mountain course
Played Owl's Nest Saturday, June 22, 2013 and it was a great first experience. Lots of room on the fairways and shaping helps bring errant drives back into play. Greens are quick and roll true and the elevation changes on the back nine make for some dramatic shots. Very friendly staff and a great finishing hole that brings you back to the clubhouse - a great place to grab a cold one after a round.
Owl's Nest is a beautiful high end emaculate course with full staff.
Playing Owl's Nest was like being on the PGA tour. The course is emaculate. Bring your best game or you will be disapointed with your stray shots. I was challenged in every aspect of my game, yet I was able to find relief when the beer cart came around and I bought a $5 Giness. The price is on the high end, but the course is a high end course, lined with million dollar houses. The Northern Pass has everyone worried, becasue it is expected to go right through the 18 hole course. Play it now before Obama's high power lines go in. The sand traps were a disapointment beacsue they contain many rocks, o'well.
delay in teeing off by 20 mins.
Better than most Will play again what more do U want
Best course in New Hampshire
Well maintained with great staff. A good mix of very challenging holes combined with some birdie opportunity holes. Highly recommend.
