A Berkshires must play

Recently played Waubeeka and as always were not disappointed. Course and people are both amazing although I would probably give a slight edge to the staff. The course is difficult and you better be able to putt. Holes are quite interesting with a good mix of long and short. Fairways are perfect but keep your ball out of the rough. This course is part of our annual Berkshires trip and we will be back from CT next year for sure

First Time Playing

it's a beautiful day at will beat the golf links. And it WAS!

that's the motto at Waubeeka Golf Links and boy is that correct. From our greetings in the Pro Shop to the service after our round everything was top-notch. the layout at Waubeeka is spectacular the tees and the greens were in great shape. You can tell the ownership has great pride in this golf course and a passion that I would recommend anyon who travels to the Berkshire s play this course. Very impressive.

Wonderful experience

We come up from CT and play Waubeeka Springs every year on vacation and it always excels. It is about time we gave them some props. The course is in fantastic shape and the greens are fast and tricky. Some long par fours so don't be afraid to play the up tees. After the round they have a great little bar/restaurant with a few tvs for watching Sawxx games. Food was very good and we are already looking forward to next year.

Everyday local-type course keeps improving

My recent round at Waubeeka was a bit of a homecoming. My last time there was for my first-ever junior golf tournament win: a Plantations Junior Golf Tour event. The size of the field in my 9-10 age group? 2 players (got ya, Dale Lee).

I was pleased to see that Waubeeka had both changed and stayed the same in the intervening dozen and a half years. What hadn't changed was the friendliness of the people, the well above-average course conditions and the generally pleasant New England vibe.

What has changed is the quality of the course itself, a gradual improvement that I've monitored in recent years. Architect Mark Mungeam has built and rejiggered a number of holes that add more of a sense of classic strategy to the course than the original, fairly pedestrian Rowland Armacost original routing. Some Armacost holes are pretty much permanent due to environmental regulations, making the course a bit of a hodgepodge at present. Still, it's worth playing Waubeeka if you're in the area for the mountain scenery and the fun Mungeam holes. The three par 3s on the back, plus the long par-4 11th, are terrific in particular.

A fun place to play golf

I've played Waubeeka since it opened in '66. It was our home course for my high school golf team. There have been a few changes in the last 10 years, but it is basically the same layout I knew all those years ago. The course was in great shape. Green were rolling nicely. It's like going home.
