The course is in the worst shape it's ever been since it opened. The owner is not putting any money into the course - even with a 75% increase in membership due to Winchendon closing! Drainage problems on 16 of the 18 holes due to neglect over the years. I don't think he's bought a new piece of equipment - ever! Duct tape and bailing wire holds it all together.
From the moment you pull into the bumpy-ass driveway to trying to deal with the know-nothing pro shop manager to the awful course conditions, you will be miserable.
You may even be lucky enough to watch a 6-some stroll down the first fairway on a fine Friday evening. This place is close to folding. Let's hope they sell the course to someone that understands you have to spend money to make money! Such a joke.

If you enjoy being robbed this is the place for you! Owners have zero golf operation knowledge - zero. It is the talk of every single regular player there. Unfortunately there are very few other options for the locals so we all just keep lining the pockets of the owners, their children and their children's children. This very web site states there is a pro onsite. This is one of many lies they continue to tell about their product..!! Rental clubs? Joke. Food? Joke. Service? Get your own $3.00+ beer.

The course itself is a good layout but the conditions are deplorable - from the uneven tee boxes to the shrinking greens.

Go to Ellinwood or Westminster if thinking about golfing in the area. Much better experience for similar price point.

Don''t listen to the few old negative reviews & check this place out. Just started playing here(in 2014). The owner Bill and his granddaughter April work as a team and do all of the up keep on the course (seprate from their mowing crew). These two put a ton of pride into maintaining this course & it shows! The price is right along with all the other public courses in the area & if they have a tournament going on they recommend the nearest courses INSTEAD of bad-mouthing them like I''ve expirenced many other places! The view & atmosphere can''t be beat!

Im shocked w/ the 1st post "Layout didn't seem very creative but w/ the flat local terrain designers didn't have a lot to work with." ??? I can testify that this course is Anything But Flat!!! Im @ Templewood 9-15hrs/day 6-7days/wk & the land the course was built on was where I grew up! So trust me when I say its not flat.. The course has been an awsome place to play for a long time now.. Come for a round & you'll have privacy from golfers @ nearby holes while teeing off/ putting. There's 3 lakes/ponds on the property, an amazing view of Mt Monadnock, places to sit & relax, a large pavilion for outings, a gazebo to discuss your hole in 1 w/ teammates, & some challenging but fun holes. In Re: to the review from BMT: Yes we have to charge Greens fees for everyone who enters the couse. We didn't for a long time & many people were bringing a wife or children just to tag along & after a few visits once they were out of site they were some people who started playing for the next 17holes... ( I know if you goto Amusment Parks you pay even if you dont want to go on rides) . ***We does our best to provide customers w/ a great experience & respect / welcome all criticism & suggestions. We work hard to provide a nice course & welcome you to stop by. If you do come for a round & need anything @ all ask for April & I'll personally make sure you have an enjoyable expirence. With all the technology & social media today I find a lack in customer service & loyalty w/in companies however here I assure you that you find nothing but the best! See you on the course!

Played this several years ago so things may have changed. As I recall the conditions were good and it was challenging. The course was enjoyable but as a whole not very memorable. The layout didn't seem to be very creative but given the flat local terrain the designers didn't have a lot to work with in the first place. Long & narrow fairways require accurate drives. If you're a slicer like me bring extra balls. Not the friendliest staff around but quite competent. Prices are pretty typical but more interesting options can be found in the area. Certainly worth a try but not really my cup of tea. Bug repellent required if playing at dawn or dusk.

Do not play here. Great piece of property. Pretty nice layout. The conditions are absolutely deplorable. Played as a single and brought my girlfriend along for the walk. After the round I was told by the very nice woman in the pro shop that the owners spotted my girlfriend out with me not playing (she just wanted to walk with me, it was a beautiful day) and said there is normally a $10 charge to walk and not play. Just ridiculous since not another soul was on the course on a 75 degree Sunday afternoon. These money grubbing owners can find someone else to rob.

The course at Templewood is always very well kept and the staff is friendly. Family run business and they treat the customers like family as well!
