Rangers
The Ranger really threw off my sons game. He said we were playing too slow. There was no one behind us . he told me to look at the clock I was five minutes off. You lose a lot of balls so you spend a little time looking for them. But we were not holding up play. He was a nasty man
Love this course!
Love this course.
Played her many years ago and our trip back was just wonderful.
It started with the very stylish starter that gave us a history and description of the course.
9Holes but easily played 18 using different tees. It’s a must if you are lucky enough to be in the area.
This course is special
Highland Links is a special course. Old school layout, conditions and even clubhouse.
Hidden gem on the Cape
Fun, little course with outstanding views. Great value for $35/round, especially given it’s legitimate links set up. Can get slow at times, given the wide range of players that come for a round. But definitely worth it if you are looking to get in a round of two while on vacation
Challenging course
Overall it was a pretty good experience.
The course was challenging, but not too difficult for intermediate players.
The greens do not measure up to today’s standard of quality
Hard to take a course seriously when putting on a spongy mound. This is for old world duffers. Sand traps are heavy sea sand. Carts are old propane at $10 per head. They run sprinklers while you’re playing. So what!
Great place
Gorgeous course with some breathtaking views and challenging holes. Not long but you need to be precise otherwise your gonna be in the fescue searching for your ball. Bottom line if your on the cape and you want to play a course that’s close to the ocean and you don’t have a hedge fund, this is the course for you.
Toothless from the drought
What is usually a very challenging 9 with 3 foot tall fescue growing between the fairways is, for this year at least, reduced to an interesting links layout with dirt between the fairways. The fescue has all burned. So, if your shot misses the fairway, you can see it and hit it quite easily, whereas normally it would be almost impossible to find. However, the view over the ocean is still magnificent, and it gives the feel of playing a Scottish links course without having to fly across the ocean.
Poor condition.
So disappointed after the hype of a true links course. Fairways and rough burnt out. Hardly any views dur to horse and trees. Lighthouse hidden behind construction wrap just to steal even that view. Oh well.
Great course great staff amazing views
Loved it for a great 9 holes when down this end of the cape
Oldest course in America
It was sunny, windy, cloudy all at once. Although not long very challenging with many uphill, downhill, sidehill lies every shot .Staff were friendly and welcoming.
True Links Course
This was my 3rd time playing here and the fescue had grown more and made it a little more difficult. It's a hidden gem, is only 1 of 5 links courses in US. Francis Oumit used to play here so it's a great experience with great views of Atlantic. Also walking 9 is cheaper than many places on Cape.
WOW
I have played Highland ohhh maybe 100 times and I hope to play another 1000 before I die!
pace of play is generally a bit slow, the course is short, and the conditions aren't anything to write home about (although, I played here last fall and for some reason the course was absolutely pristine out of literally nowhere.) but this golf experience is just as unique and enjoyable as any other, especially for the cape.
The scenery is beautiful, the wind howls, the scape and grounds are generally untamed. It is a classic old school golf course that has probably seen little to no change since it was built...
If this course was lengthened on a few holes and the conditions were always as pristine as they were that day last fall I referred to earlier in this post. This course would be on everyone's radar. But, this is not the case and so this hidden gem is overlooked.
