friendly staff and good conditions
I had not played this course for several years and had forgotten that its a great place to go close to home.
Lost And Found
I lost and found golf balls all over this golf course. I hit mine where they will never be found and found the other ones just sitting there in the rough and fairways. I hadn't played since April and had never played Pine Ridge before so my expectations were low. I did OK after figuring out the VERY fast, but beautiful greens. Way too many 3 putts. These greens are some the finest I have ever stood on. The course has everything you can ask for. Elevated tees, elevated greens, blind tee shots, forced carries off the tee, uphill lies, downhill lies, side hill lies above your feet, side hill lies below your feet and just enough water to keep your attention. If you go Rte 20 W to get to this course, take a right at the pink school bus and Cornerstone Bank onto Rte. 56N, follow under the highway bridge and take the immediate left onto Pleasant St. I'll go back again and hit my short putts firm and center cut
This course has have a very good layout
This course has a very good layout. However, it needs some major tree trimming services.
First time, I didn't need to use a provisional ball and I didn't lose a ball. The first 7 holes I played by myself then I joint a group of two.
Needless to say I had a great time. The front 9 holes are much easier than the back 9 holes.
The second time I would expect to perform much better than the first time I played.
okay
Course is okay tee boxes for so early are horrible.
Pace of play is fair no starter or rangers to keep pace a little faster.Value is very good.
good value
fairways and greens in good condition. tee boxes, cart paths and some border areas to fairways worn a bit but don't affect play to any great extent. they were catching up on the mowing which was good as I lost two balls just off the fairway the day before; found one today (in three pieces). personnel I ran into were all polite and helpful. nice value golf in central MA.
Good course for a HotDeal
Played here for a $20 HotDeal. Guy in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. Gave me a yardage book for free when I said I'd never played there before. He paired me up in the same cart with another single, which can be a nightmare sometimes. Luckily the other single was about my age and skill set. He played there before and his advice on how to play some of the holes was very helpful. Fairways and greens were very lush given the current drought conditions. Tee boxes could use some TLC. Greens were hard and fast. Very difficult to hold them on approach shots. Had numerous shots land 5-10 ft below the hole that rolled right off the back of the green. The layout is funky and gets tight on the back 9. No easy par 3s except for the 2nd hole. The 16th is the worst golf hole I've ever seen in my life. Overall a good deal for $20. I wouldn't go out of my way to play there again though.
Challenging course layout and small right greens
Our foursome had a great time...would love to play this course again now that we know it's challenges.
Great signs at each T box telling how to play each hole.
(A couple need to be repositioned in their cases.)
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff.
Had a great day of golf.
Course has character.
The course was good. The lack of rain has created some tough lies. The greens were in beautiful shape. I had a lot of challenging puts. I would certainally play it again.
Great day
Small greens, accuracy counts here. Some layup holes, a good mix. Not private CC conditions, you get what you pay for. It has been 12 years since I've played here. Glad I came back.
Decent course
Nice course, fairways were a little burnt but the cause was a lack of rain for this time of year. Greens were small but in good shape. Best to play with someone who has played the course before as a few of the pins are hidden as are some obstacles. More of a target golf course instead of just grip and rip
Cant play just once
Fun course but several tricky golf shot holes that one needs to know the course a little if they want to score well. I will play a second time and should shave 5 strokes off total score. Greens are fast - you gotta land up and down. Several birdie holes and a few eagle holes if you are slightly long and very accurate. Bumpy ride in cart throughout course. Make sure your bag is secure. Great value. Will play again soon.
Nice course for GolfNow value
The course is in nice shape considering the summer we have had. Not a long course and is fair for golfers of all abilities. The greens are small and slightly crowned which creates a challenge for your short game. The staff is friendly and the 19th hole offers a variety of food choices from sandwiches to seafood dinners.
A good day of golf at Pine Ridge
I booked the tee time thru GolfNow.com and we payed $31 total for 18 holes w/cart. An excellent value.
The course itself was average. Many holes go back and forth and the greens, while in great shape, rolled a little slow. Several times I either played from an adjoining fairway or someone from another group was in our fairway. It was not a big problem on a Monday afternoon as it was not busy.
We were behind a fivesome after the 1st tee but on the 4th hole they let my brother and I play through and we didn't have to wait for anyone the rest of the round. We played the round in 3:15 so that was very good.
A shoutout to the guys in the proshop. They were excellent when we arrived and when they heard that we hadn't played there before they gave us a yardage book, which came in very handy around the course. Thanks!! We left the book in the cart when we finished.
Also, they had bottles of water on ice for free. A nice touch.
Jim
Overall the course was in good condition but because of lack of rain some of the fairways need help. I would definitely play it again and we found the staff very customer service oriented. We got there early and were able to get right out.
Fairways
A few fairway need some work, 12, 16,and 17. But I would still play there again. The greens were In great shape.
Good Value, friendly staff
Played on a saturday at 1 pm. Very few people playing, so they let us out early.
Course was in good shape, It was warm, could have used water stations or refreshment cart, as they state all beverages must be purchased on course.
Overall, I would recommend !
Wonderful course
Everything was in great shape except the cart paths and since I try to keep my ball off of them it's a minor issue. The course has more than sufficient diversity and challenging enough for better golfers.
Perhaps some improvements in signage and distance markers would help.
As Arnold says....."I'll be back."
Great value, decent course.
Staff was great. Very organized. Nice restaurant/bar. Course a bit choppy but greens were in excellent condition. Hard to beat for value!
Great Deal
Played here after work Saturday, made a 3:20 tee time for a great price of $25.00 with a cart for 18 holes. Played the front nine in one hour flat, nobody in front of me the whole time, when I made the turn there was a fivesome in the 10th fairway, so instead of waiting I went back to the first tee & played the front again, still nobody in front of me, played 18 in 2:10.
Greens were in nice shape as well as the fairways
