Pristine Conditions
If you want to play on a course that is absolutely perfect condition wise from tee to green...PLAY HERE! The staff is outstanding and they really care about everything. My only disappointment was that I allowed some players through to delay my experience enough so that I could spectate a few groups of the Natick High JV golf match but was unable to see anything as the opponent was stuck in traffic getting to the course. You have to love how much Sassamon Trace gets behind their youth and the future of this great sport. Thank you!
Great condition, both fairways and greens played early morning wasn't busy only downside is its a short course par 32 but overall very nice little course
Slow Pace of Play
I play this course on a weekly basis and recently the pace of play has been abysmal. I like to play alone and ride but it’s not very fun to sit behind groups of 6 children walking
perfect weather
Friendly staff- challenging course - a good time - Fairways were good- a good mix of par 3's and a few long par fives- I am looking for a place to replace Lost Brook in Norwood. I'll be back .
Great Re-use of a Landfill
9 hole municipal muni built on a capped landfill, manages to have your attention despite lack of length. It is generally narrow and has precise targets. Greens are small and well guarded by bunkers, rough or water. When the green looks accessible the fairway usually slopes dramatically towards the worst gnarly rough around. The first time I played it I was annoyed: each subsequent round reduced the annoyance and increased my appreciation of its diabolical features.
Another Pleasant Experience
Played and reviewed this course prior to this round and was again rewarded with a nice time. Greens were recently spiked and top dressed but still rolled great...should be in prime condition by another week. Staff took exception to my late arrival from traffic issues and was out with no delay. Everything was just A W E S O M E ! ! ! Thank you again!
Splendid Experience
This course, though a relatively short 9, demonstrates a management who have their priorities in good order. The clubhouse is spare and may actually be a double wide mobile home, but EVERYTHING else about the place is first rate. A driving net (never seen one before, but very useful amenity), an accommodating and chill atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff (warned us to hustle out to avoid a junior league following us), and once out on the course, a leisurely, and well-paced play, inspiring us to be especially generous about encouraging a play-through.
Most important, the kids are being taught well, given the shape of the course. Green divots repaired routinely, traps raked, fairways watered immediately behind us, just a completely satisfying golf atmosphere.
Sassamon Trace
Hadn't played this course in many years. Heard it was taken back and is now managed by the town of Natick. The course was in great shape and the course is challenging for all levels. The greens were pretty fast. Overall a good course and with the Golf Now discounts it is a great course.
A fun and enjoyable short layout
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Course was in good contdition with tricky, fast greens. Layout was fairly easy and a blast to play. Don't miss right... OOB or edge of the capped landfill is right on every hole. I would recommend getting a cart: the hike between 3 and 4 and 8 and 9 is long and you have a massive hill to climb to get to the 9th tee.
Would recommend!
Bang for the buck
The course itself is struggling from the drought. That being said, greens and tee boxes are in great shape for what they are. Course is easy, relaxing. Staff is there to keep pace , but to ensure everyone is happy. Will play again
