Great staff
The course was in pristine condition. Challenging but fair. Great staff all around
Great conditions-greens were in good preseason shape
1st time playing the course. I liked the layout of the course. Even with all the homes around the course you never felt they hindered the play excepted on a few holes. The greens were true and rolled well for preseason conditions. I would have liked the option to walk as the entire round was cart paths only.
Only cart paths ,should have been notified before booking tee time
THAR SHE BLOWS!!!!...and it isnt MOBY DICK either...
Winds were in the high teens and raged on through out the round...while drying the fairways and greens, the impact of recent rains is still being felt...
Cart path only made it an interesting round ...with the winds only making it more interesting...seeing the greens be lightning fast...took us three holes to get the rhythm and by then the scorecards were a mess...will be back for sure...always a great place to play and the folks are tops
Unexpectedly Nice Course
Courses developed around residential communities can be iffy in New England. This one is done right. No ball need to be aimed at someone's house (okay #9; but not at any windows) to get the right line. Houses are nicely set back from the fairway (but may get wild in the summer as more folks are in their backyard - which is OB along the left of fairway #9). Anyway, it is a nice setting overall, good layout, and some very nice holes (#7,8,9) and large greens. Fairway and green are in incredible condition for MARCH! Green is a bit bumpy, and there are a lot of un-repaired fairway divots. It's a great value for sure @$52- cart or walk same price! Staff is very friendly. We were late for 5 minutes because of traffic on the Pike but they got us going without missing a beat. Will definitely go back.
Good Course.
Course is challenging. Chicken sandwich was better
Rainy day of golf
My friend and I played during light rain. Course looked and played great regardless. Got a good deal because of the weather. Will return, one of the best courses in central mass.
A good course!!!
I have played Highfields many times and have always enjoyed my round. They have several sets of tee boxes so everyone can be challenged.
The greens and the tee boxes are always in great shape. I would be advised that not everyone who plays there fixes their divots on the greens.
A challenging course suitable for every level of player..........
Challenging but Fair
Enjoyed the layout and condition of course was very good considering it was late fall. Definitely play it again and again.
Just a great day
...chill passed as the sun rose...the mega leaf blowers were out and the fairways just a delight...yes, one can lose a ball if you get near the piles on the side.....
...remnants of the FALL foliage still visible on back 9 and course with all the lack of rain was just right...
...the aeration from back when ever seems to have finally grown in(played about 10 days ago) and the ball rolled true...with the nuances all around the cup to the ball and back, thing TWO putt and you will be fine..
...will absolutely try to get one more round in this season if the weather permits...
Great Views only add to the round
The drought is STILL impacting golf courses, and this course has done an exceptional job of managing its impact...the aeration occurring in the past several weeks continues to struggle and impacted many many putts from all four players...as the golf ball often looked like a basketball being dribbled ...the fairways are marvelous...just wish fellow golfers would repair their divots...use two or three tees if you dont have the repair toold...cant wait to play it again...oh, and do bring your camera along, the view at this time of year, on the BACK NINE will...keep you warm in the long cold winter...
Perfect Fall Day
Overall the course conditions were excellent. Wet in spots but that was because it rained a lot prior. So really drained well. The layout is with some fun holes and some spectacular holes 7-9 & 12-16. The bad spot on the course are #1 and #10 where too often players are in the wrong fairway or hole. The par 3s #s 2, 6 and 11 are mediocre. Personally, I'm not a fan of courses lined with houses like Highfields. During the summer the greens are in better shape than when we played today (post aeration and not cut or rolled).
Great course!
First time playing it and had an unreal time. 100% worth the money and it’s not even that expensive. Course layout was fun, challenging and forgiving all at the same time. Drought has hit all the courses hard this year but the course was still in good conditions.
Staff was very friendly at the pro shop and bar. Good vibes from them, made it feel like a community. Course rangers are all old retired guys, they can be short with players but hey that’s old retired guys for you.
Would highly recommend anyone to play this course. It’s worth the drive from South Boston and the fees.
Very Nice Layout
Very nice course, greens & course in top shape, considering heat wave.
Definate referral for others 2 play.
Pace was very good front 9, back 9 was slower though, but no big deal.
