Solid Course; Great Value
Really enjoy this course. It’s well-maintained and highly affordable. Nice layout too. Like many municipal courses, it can get a bit crowded and pace of play is impacted as a result.
Great value
After reading several reviews, I'd hope for more. Nice people, nice layout, but course condition was OK at best. I realize it's early in the season for the area, but it's clear the maintenance budget is limited. A nice time.
Super slow play
Stuck behind a league that was playing 25 mins per hole thankfully it was only 9 holes. Took over 2 hours.great course tho as always in great shape.
Always a great time.
Don’t miss getting a few rounds in at Chicopee. Conditions are always excellent.
Great shape
Course was in great shape for so early in the season. Can’t wait for the greens to get faster. Always like playing here.
Nice course
Early season but course still was in good shape. I will back next year.
Great first round
I had the pleasure of getting paired up with 3 members on my first round at Chicopee Country Club and they made the day extremely fun and enjoyable. Very well kept. Greens in excellent shape. Thank you Darlene, Paula and Claire.
Pleasantly Surprised
I booked some extra tee times in prep for a regional qualifier which was scheduled for the following week. The first round was on 6/18. The golf shop is small but is stocked with everything that the player needs. The staff could not have been more welcoming and informative. Be advised that the driving range policy is “irons only.” I decided to get a power cart, which turned out to be a good move-more on that in a bit. The front nine is quite quirky (trees in the middle of the 4th, 6th, & 9th fairways-hence, the 1-star deduction for “Course layout”), with the back 9 being longer, wider and more of a traditional layout than the front. Green sizes run from small to medium, with a double green for holes 2 & 5. Although there are quite a few blind shots designed into the layout, it helped that the power carts have a GPS system that can track the carts of the group in front of you (should the group in front consist of walkers, there are bells located throughout the course that when rung will indicate that it’s safe to hit). From its visual aspects to its playability, the course conditions were outstanding. If approach shots can be kept below the holes, the course can be susceptible to low scoring, but beware if your approach is long, as many of the greens slope severely from back to front and can be extremely unforgiving if the ball is above the hole. The clubhouse is “pub-style,” very homey, with very good food and great service.
Bottom line: say “Hi” to the staff, follow their directions, have fun while staying within yourself during your round, hit the shot that is required, stop in the restaurant for food with a post-round pop or 2, & you’ll have yourself one heck of a day. Go & play Chicopee CC. You won’t be disappointed.
