Maplegate Country Club sprawls across 150 acres of gently rolling hills that are blanketed with forests of stately maple, oak, beech, and white pine trees. The golf course is situated just off of I-495 along the border between Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Although the location is seemingly isolated, it’s conveniently only 45 minutes from Boston. The course plays harder than it looks with a diverse layout that will test you with a variety of different shots. Maplegate Country Club's front nine features more target-style golf but you'll get to pull out your driver on the back nine. There are some tough holes, but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper. The variety that the golf course offers made it the natural choice to host U.S. Open Qualifiers in both in 1998 and 2001.

Let me just say that I am mortified of the conditions of this course. I played it 3 times this year, and it got worse every time! The greens were dead & unplayable, fairways were hardpan with no grass, tee boxes were like sand traps, and some old loon kept driving around with white spray paint marking the greens to cut them SMALLER! The greens are tiny as it is, who is this retard? The good news is I snuck on all three times right off the first tee (No Starter!) so it didn't cost me anything. Been doing this for years there! Totally unorganized, unprofessional, idiotic jack wads that want your $$ and don't are about the course! F you!!

Oh my god what a horrible course! Played in mid September & greens were brown with dirt patches, tee boxes we sand, dirt, with some crabgrass thrown in for good measure, fairways uncut & hard-pan, rough not cut at all, leaves everywhere, trees hanging in front of some tee shots, just awful! Save your $$ and play anywhere else!

Not a bad course. Not very long unless you play from the tips, but still a fun place to play
