The Tradition Golf Club At Wallingford
About
The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford is one of the most affordable rounds in the area and it has received praise as one of the best golf courses in Connecticut. The par-70 layout is player friendly enough for beginners but low handicappers will also find it to be a fun round. The holes are fairly straightforward though there are some fairways that have very narrow landing areas that will test the accuracy of even the best golfers. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed along the undulating greens and water also comes into play on the occasional hole. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging on the back nine. The most memorable hole on the golf course, the par-3 12th, is a water hole that features an intimidating island green.

Sloooooooow play
Tee’d off early and got stuck behind slow players. Had a course worker come by and check on it, still slow after that. Course was in good shape. Some of the staff wasn’t very friendly. Overall a nice course but I would play in the afternoon if you’re looking to keep a good pace of play
Wlfd Tradition 9/18
Perfect day with a nice serious golfing couple. First time playing the Blue tees vs whites. Course has not ever been in nicer condition. Greens were extremely fast and very challenging. Fairways are in tremendous shape. Can't wait to get back out.
Great layout
Be careful of last 3 holes. Can easily ruin a good score. Overall great course.
Overall great course
Course was a bit wet in some spots, but very challenging. A lot of blind shots and doglegs so you really need to be strategic with your shots. Greens are fast and undulating. Love the layout of the 18th. Staff was super friendly and efficient. Will definitely go back.
ct golfer
first time playing the tradition at wallingford. we will definitely return. first the good. the course is in great shape especially the fairways and traps. the greens ran true with "lots" of slope. the course is definitely not flat and offers varied lies. some great holes, some long par 4s some shorter pars4s, with some target holes thrown in. the "bad". this course is much harder then the 119 slope from the whites. it definitely needs to be rerated. also there are two holes which are poorly set up for the average golfer e.g. someone who hits a 220 yard drive. #9 415 yard par 4 with a 50 ft elevation gain just short of the green. impossible to reach in two for the average golfer. #14. is similar. the island green par 3 is a blast. i will definitely return to play with some gained local knowledge.
ps. far superior to the tradition at oak lane
Traditional Gold
Nice course and friendly staff. Slow play on the day I was there’.
Slow round.
They don’t do a good job at managing the groups off the first tee !
due to heavy rain for the past week the course was wet. the greens were in excellent condition and putted true.
Tradition Wallingford
Great midweek GN deal. Just have to take midweek vacation time to take advantage.
