A pleasant par-4 opener still presents a challenge: using the right club to get on in regulation. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/19/2021

The sixth hole at the White, a hard dogleg right, demands a tough uphill second shot to this plateau green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/19/2021

Green one at the Blue’s opening hole, a postcard worthy par-4, is set upon a hill and well defended. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/19/2021

Fourth hole, par-4, Blue. Simply an outstanding driving hole that doglegs to this green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/19/2021

The Blue’s reachable par-5 seventh can be a two-shooter for power hitters. The approach, though, must be laser-straight. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/19/2021

Closing hole, Blue: A classic par-4, finishing on this bunkered green, seen from right flank. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/19/2021

Second: Blue Nine, 377 par-4: The rolling fairway and small green combine to make a routine hole interesting. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021
-
Sixth, Blue, 201 par-3: This plays a bit longer than card’s yardage because it travels uphill. The green is small & contoured. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021
-
Eighth, Blue, 148 par-3: A plateau green and big bunker ensure that this three-par won’t be all that easy. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Sixth, Red: 331 par-4, dogleg right. Hit your drive in the proper spot and you’ll have a short club into this green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Seventh, Red, 180 par-3: Scenic hole with a well-protected green. Avoid the big dropoff to the right. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Eighth, Red, 396, par-4: A classic two-shotter that plays more like 420 (uphill, with a raised green). One of Elmridge’s best holes. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/02/2021

Drama: Hole five descends about four stories from its tee. A marshy pond guards a green set among dense woods. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/25/2021

A good finisher, the ninth ends on this diminutive green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/18/2020
Course was in the best shape we have ever see it. played in just under 4 hours , the greens are in great conditions and held the few times I hit them. People at the course have always been helpful and friendly. Perfect day
Not worth it
Greens were shaggy and slow. Tee boxes were barren. Bunkers were hard and inconsistent. Paid $51 for a hot deal, I won’t pay more than $30.
Everything was fine until an afternoon league teed off in front of us as we were making the turn.
Cart paths are very poor and fairways are very bumpy
Well worth your time and money
Really nice conditions. Greens were in excellent shape. Good pace of play. Good value.
Comfortable place to play
Course has a number of interesting holes that challenge you to plan and execute your shot. Bunkers come into play, as well as trees which line both sides of the fairway.
Exceptional course! See you again soon
First time here. Got on around 2:30 and did white/blue in less than 3 hours riding. I’m new to Norwich so I’m trying to play every course within 30 mins. This is probably the best course I’ve tried so far of the 5 or 6 spots. It’s a secluded little area and wasn’t busy at all, surprised for a Saturday.
Played the back tees. Par 5s are long from the back, but everything else is reasonable. A few blind landing spots but nothing crazy. I’ll say this though- there’s a lot of tree lined fairways that are unforgiving. I pulled a few shots left and you aren’t getting it back. If you don’t know the course, follow the signs closely. There’s a few holes that are pretty far apart since they have 3 sets of 9.
Tee boxes were good. Greens were pure but felt a bit slow. They definitely maintain the course very well. Other than a few spot rain showers it was a tremendous first time. I highly recommend this track to any skill level. Looking forward to playing the red 9 next time!
Good course
Greens and course great shape. Ran out of steam on 15. Called it a day
Into the mist
The day started wet and foggy; eventually the fog lifted, the skies cleared, and the sun broke through. The course is in good shape, the greens are consistent, and the layout proved challenging yet attainable.
April Showers bring a really wet course
My first time at this course. I showed up and found out one of the nines was closed due to aeration. Also found out could only ride on one 9 and had to walk the second 9. The staff was nice about it so on I went. First nine was very wet but managed to maneuver around most of it. Started the second 9 walking and by the second hole walked back to the clubhouse. I would recommend the course but not after any amount of rain or this time of year. May try again when things dry out.
Great Experience!
I booked my tee time an hour before on the day of play. The course was covered in thick, thick fog. But, the score card had a great map and representation of all holes so as long as you gave the players ahead of you ample time there were no issues. It kind of made it more of a challenge and fun.. I played the “west” course or white nine and had a great time. Most of the tee boxes were in good shape overall, but there were one or two that needed some serious attention. The fairways we in great shape and provide great lies. The greens were in great shape, but it looks like they were punched within the last few weeks. Pace of play was pretty good, although I caught up to a foursome half way then paired up with the two behind me. So, it worked out pretty well. I would recommend this course!
A fun track and well maintained.
A Thursday Hot Deal and we almost had the course to ourselves. Smooth greens, not very fast understandably in August but rolled true. Lots of hole variety. Overall a very good public course and well worth it even if not a Hot Deal!
Elmridge-CT/RI gem
Excellent value for this well kept course. Greens were near perfect and pace of play moved along. Really happy with the White and Blue. Will be going back very soon.
Give it a try !!
An average and forgiving course run extremely well by Chris. Never in all my years playing have a seen a person work so hard to keep a course moving and people satisfied. All while a tournament was being played. Well done Chris !!
