About
Gilead Highlands, or the "New Course," joined the original golf course at Blackledge Country Club, Anderson Glen, in 2000. They share the same parkland setting but the courses are unique in character. The "Old Course" provides a more traditional round while Gilead Highlands is slightly shorter, but also a bit more challenging. The heavily wooded landscape can prove to be quite formidable and there are also a few water features that come into play throughout the golf course. The layout offers an interesting variety of holes from fun par 3s to demanding par 5s. The course begins with one of the front nine's most difficult par 4s. This dogleg right hole requires a tee shot with perfect placement to the left center of the fairway. Long hitters will enjoy this one, but be cautious of the out-of-bounds on the right.

What are the rangers doing?
What should have been a great experience was knocked down by a very slow pace of play. We saw rangers but no relief or speeding up of play. I am still not sure if we were being held up by a league or a very slow group, but we were backed up on the first nine and at almost a standstill on the back. There was no way we could play as slowly as the groups in front of us. Very tough day , we willl try once more but the course was overbooked and the starter inexperienced.
Great course
Our foursome enjoyed playing this course. we also got a great deal on the Blackledge online tee time website.
Gilead Highlands course is CT little secret
3rd time playing here, every time the course has been in good shape. Always a great value and pace of play has always been to my liking, never waiting at the tee box or being pushed from behind.

Course was in excellent shape! A few challenging holes but overall moderate difficulty
Pace of play
It's never a good thing when you ask the starter before your your round and he says 2:20, 2:30 it's busy. How about a Marshall to keep play at a good pace?

Course was in great condition and we played it at a great rate. Also was nice to see they continue to money into the course.
Like slow play...this is your course
The course and conditions were good, but I would rate this course much higher if the pace of play were faster. Waiting 10 plus minutes at each tee box does not make for an enjoyable afternoon. I played this course 2 times in the past month and each time the pace of play was painful. With absolutely no cart girls selling beverages, no rangers monitoring pace of play I feel this will be my last time playing Blackledge. Its a nice facility....but management just needs to speed up play. Pack in your own beer.
Favorite course
Me and my brother continue to play this course year after year! It's a challenging course and we always have a great time.
Blackledge was beautiful
The folks ahead of us were very slow. I'm surprised that golfers were on the course that didn't even have their own set of clubs. I don't think you they should allow sharing. Made the round a little frustrating at times.

Excellant value for the green fees
The golf course was in overall very good shape. Fairways, greens and tee boxes in excellent condition. A couple holes were having some ground work done, but no major issue. Course is relatively forgiving if you hit the ball reasonably straight and don't past the 1st rough cuts, but can be a challenge for beginners if you go too far left or right off your tee shots.
I like the Gilead Highlands layout
On Monday (Holiday) there was no starter making it very disorganized. It was very buzy and the only person working was the guy at the register, he was overwhelmed. People were getting rain checks because of the pace of play, 3 hrs for 9 holes...
Because people were taking off, it made our 9 hole time of 2:30, not too bad but waiting on almost every shot. I guess thats what weekend/holiday golf is like?

Very enjoayable round on the agile ad course. First time I played there but definitely not the last.

Warm up on the front nine for the challenge on the back. It's a fine course.

Conditions were good. Fairways a little wet but good consistent greens. Friendly staff. Will play there again

Always an excellent course. And look what they did to the 12th hole (that funky par 5 is now almost normal)! Great job!!
